Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction (Candy Glock 33)

(If you have not already seen this post, I would recommend reading it before reading this one.) If you remember from that post I mentioned, I have 2 out of 5 books called Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction. For my 12th birthday, I got 2 more, so now I have 4 out of 5 of the books. (The last one is just tear-out targets, so I am not really interested in that one.) I have made a very powerful Mini Weapon out of one of the new books, called Build a Secret Agent Arsenal. The Mini Weapon I made is called a Candy Glock 33. It is a gun made out of everyday items (Index Cards, Balloons, Glue Sticks, Ext...) that shoots hard candies. (However, I am shooting little plastic BBs.) It uses a balloon in the back to pull back and launch the hard candies/BBs. The barrel is index cards, and there is a spot to put extra ammo right underneath the barrel. The handle is made of a large binder clip and of index cards. Here are some pictures:

This one shows the gun itself:

Here you are looking down through the barrel:

This is the same point of view, but with the extra ammo area open. (The cap of a glue stick is glued to a small binder clip, so it can snap open and closed.):

Here are my two new books. The one on the right is what this came from:

Here is the first page of the instructions:

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, and were interested in the Mini Weapon! It shoots really fast! You can barely see the BB fly through the air!

Creativation

My mom is in Phoenix, Arizona as a VIP for a craft conference called Creativation.

She taught a class, and I heard it went very well. It is about kids' crafts. Now she is probably looking at all of the brands stuff that are there. I am very interested in Artistry By Nature (a sculpting kit from sandstone), and also just a big box of art supplies (Colored Pencils, Crayons, or Markers).

Here are pictures of the Coyote, Buffalo, and Ram kits they make.

She will be back on Monday with a big box of stuff!

Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction

Last year, in 5th grade, my class took a field trip to the Exploratorium. There, I got one of my Mini Weapon books. Then, this year, I ordered a second one from amazon. I have made a couple things.

Here is what they look like:

The things I am showing come from the book on the right.

This one is a straw blowgun.

And this one is a ninja balloon target.

I had lots of fun making and using my Mini Weapons. It took me about 25 shots to finally hit the balloon, but it was fun. I also lost one of my three ammo while trying to hit it.

Barn Quilts

We (my mom and I) made barn quilts yesterday. No, they do not keep the barn warm. They are pretty quilt designs that go on a barn. My mom will share hers in a week.

Here is mine. You can see how I did a rainbow of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple with gray in the center.

In this picture, I am painting the orange squares and my mom has finished hers.

We are hoping Jonna will give us fabric versions of these just like she did with our cursive project quilts. Making these were very fun. Here are the instructions and my mom's quilt.
