Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction (Candy Glock 33)

(If you have not already seen this post, I would recommend reading it before reading this one.) If you remember from that post I mentioned, I have 2 out of 5 books called Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction. For my 12th birthday, I got 2 more, so now I have 4 out of 5 of the books. (The last one is just tear-out targets, so I am not really interested in that one.) I have made a very powerful Mini Weapon out of one of the new books, called Build a Secret Agent Arsenal. The Mini Weapon I made is called a Candy Glock 33. It is a gun made out of everyday items (Index Cards, Balloons, Glue Sticks, Ext...) that shoots hard candies. (However, I am shooting little plastic BBs.) It uses a balloon in the back to pull back and launch the hard candies/BBs. The barrel is index cards, and there is a spot to put extra ammo right underneath the barrel. The handle is made of a large binder clip and of index cards. Here are some pictures:

This is the same point of view, but with the extra ammo area open. (The cap of a glue stick is glued to a small binder clip, so it can snap open and closed.):

Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction

Last year, in 5th grade, my class took a field trip to the Exploratorium. There, I got one of my Mini Weapon books. Then, this year, I ordered a second one from amazon. I have made a couple things.

Here is what they look like:

The things I am showing come from the book on the right.

This one is a straw blowgun.

And this one is a ninja balloon target.

I had lots of fun making and using my Mini Weapons. It took me about 25 shots to finally hit the balloon, but it was fun. I also lost one of my three ammo while trying to hit it.

Katamino

I have a very fun game called Katamino. It is a game where you have to get Pentaminos (pieces) into the board in Pentas (groups).

It has a 1 player mode where you get the pieces in the board: (No! I almost made it!)

A 2 player strategy mode where the last person to put the piece in wins:

And a 2 player game where you have to fill in your side before the other player: (Left won.)

 I love this game because it is easy to learn, and fast and simple to play. It can also be a one or two player game.

Snap Circuits

Today, I decided to use my Snap Circuits. They are an electronic toy that allows you to make circuits with little pieces.

Here is the first one I made. Turn the switch, and it lights up.

Then align the mirror, and it beeps.

Here are all of the pieces needed. (And yes, I filled every space perfectly.)

Here is the next one. I programmed it to say "Trevor deRosier".

The 3rd one spins and lights up on a beat.

Unfortunately, I did not get pictures of the 4th one I made, but you can see a little of it in the bottom left of the next picture.

Of course, whenever you have something fun, there is always a mess.

I love Snap Circuits. The 4 sets I have, which are not all that there are, are 3D Illumination, Arcade, Light, and Extreme in that order.

The Great Minifig Mix-Up!

It is time for the Great Minifig Mix-Up! That is where I take 20 minifigs and mix them up! I have broken them into head, body, and legs, and their bodies will stay where they are so it is easy to identify what they used to be. A few will be chosen as "Best of Show".
