The Life Of A House Rabbit

Hello. I am a house rabbit.

My name is Trouble. I got my name from the people at Contra Costa Rabbit Rescue. Believe me, I am NOT trouble! I do occasionally chew a piano or chair leg, but I'm not trouble! You can usually find me on a chair, in a pear box, in a cottontail cottage, under a piano, hiding in a tunnel, under my mom's feet while she works at her desk, or in my open cage.

Rabbits are very good pets to have as long as you treat them well. We are very curious, silly, and smart. We do NOT like being locked up in cages inside, but outside is even worse and more dangerous! We should NEVER be left outside unless our owners are watching us. But be warned: we sometimes shed a lot!

The reason why I am posting on Trevor's blog is because International Rabbit Day is today. On my mom's blog, you can read all about me and learn how to make rabbit crafts! If you have any questions about me or other rabbits just let Trevor know in the comments! I hope you enjoyed learning about me!

Advance Camp

Yesterday, Saturday, September 23, 2017, I had my first Advance Camp with the rest of my Boy Scout Troop. Advance Camp is a camp where you can earn merit badges. I took Indian Lore and Basketry.

This is Indian Lore:

Unfortunately, there aren't any pictures of me in Indian Lore, but I got good pictures of what I made:

This is a medicine pouch and a soapstone rock:

This is a dream catcher:

My counselor has a Miwok grandson, and so she made lots of things to show us.

Here I am in Basketry:

I learned how to make a Continuous Ribbed Basket:

I am very glad I went to Advance Camp. I had a super fun time!

Space Movies

Over the past month, my family and I have watched 3 movies about space. They are all based on true stories. My favorite was October Sky. The other two are Hidden Figures and Apollo 13. They were all great.

The first one we watched was called Hidden Figures. It is about 3 African-American women during the time when women and African-Americans were being treated poorly. At NASA where they worked, only white men were trusted to work on the difficult stuff. However, the 3 women were all very smart, and played an important role in getting people to space. I did not know that African-Americans helped that much in getting people there.

The second movie we watched was called Apollo 13. It is about the men who bravely went to space in the spaceship, Apollo 13. It shows how they had troubles getting to the moon, and how the control center helped them. I learned that some of the Apollos actually succeeded while others like Apollo 13 failed. I would definitely recommend this movie to people interested in space.

The final movie we watched is called October Sky. It is about 4 high-school aged boys who designed rockets. They lived in a coal town in Coalwood, West Virginia. They did not want to be coal miners, and instead designed the rockets to escape Coalwood's poorness and go to college. I liked that it was about kids and it talked more about their life, their town, and what they wanted to do.

All of the movies we watched were amazing, and I think everyone should watch them.

LEGO Ninjago Movie

On Friday, September 22, there will be a new movie coming out. It is called the LEGO Ninjago Movie. My mom got a big box of stuff about the movie.

The box had green ninja hat, a set of masks for all the main characters, a shirt with all of the main characters on it, a LEGO set, and 3 minifigs.

The LEGO was very fun. It took me an hour in the afternoon before I had to leave to ice skating lessons. After that, it took me another 10 minutes the next morning.

I am very excited to see the movie. I did not recognize many of the characters even though I watched the show many times.

My Favorite Game: Stratego

One of my favorite games is Stratego. I like that it has lots of strategy and is very fun and exciting. Today, I played with my mom.

First, we had to set up the game.

Now, we are ready to begin. The goal of the game is to capture the other player's flag. You do that by moving your pieces to kill the other team's pieces. The pieces are labeled 2-10 with 10 being most powerful. There are also bombs, spies and flags.

After a while, our pieces started decreasing.

Unfortunately, my mom won!

Today's game was very fun! You should try Stratego if you haven't before. It is also a great game for ages 8ish and up that only needs 2 players!

My Garden

For my Boy Scout gardening merit badge (and because I wanted a nice garden), I planted a vegetable garden.

It has corn, 3 types of tomatoes,

carrots, beets, zucchini, cucumber,

basil,

and pineapple sage.

Here is one of the beds.

The pineapple sage was very interesting. I chose it because it smelled very good. We thought it would go well in lots of dishes, but it didn't (luckily, our rabbit likes to eat it). Recently, it began to flower.

I really like my new garden! My favorite thing about it is that we get lots of tasty veggies to eat!

Ice Skating Lessons

For homework, I made this video:

My Blog!

For 6th grade, I have to do 1 homework options per week from a list of about 150 choices. I am making this blog to have a record of everything I did. Starting a blog is also one of the homework options. My favorite color is blue, so I chose to have almost everything blue. I am keeping links blue, green, and orange to match my mom's blog.
